In the buildup to the February 14th general election in Sokoto state, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has called on Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa to rethink and return to the party.

The Director General of the party campaign in the state, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, who was strong political ally to the former governor made the call while briefing Journalists on the preparations for Sunday’s flag off of the governorship campaign of Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in Sokoto.

Dingyadi wondered why Bafarawa left the party that he was a party to its formation and joined crisis-ridden PDP “that is characterised by impunity and injustice.”

“So my appeal to my boss is to rethink and rejoin APC because his political group is in the APC,” he said.

He said that the APC only fielded credible candidates for the February elections, “a situation that would give the party advantage over other political parties.”

According to Dingyadi, “Politics is about people and development and the only hope we have is in the APC,” Dingyadi said adding that the chances of APC to win the February elections was bright because people were tired of bad leadership, corruption and insecurity.

Dingyadi contested Sokoto governorship elections against Governor Wamakko three times under the platform of Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and during which time Bafarawa was
party leader.
