Sokoto 2015: Ahmed Kebbe Defects To the PDP

One of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship aspirants who lost out during the last primary election of the party in Sokoto state, Alhaji Yusha’u Ahmed Muhammad Kebbe on Sunday, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Firstly, Kebbe was brought to Bafarawa’s house on the invitation of the later at 13.19pm where they held a closed-door meeting in one of the rooms there.
After the meeting, Kebbe attended the PDP reconciliation meeting after which he told news men that there were many things he did not like in the APC.
According to him, “I am in politics because of my people and not on selfish reasons. When those left the PDP and met us in the APC, I followed them to see how they will move. After some time, I observed that if we continued the way they were moving, we would be left behind,” Kebbe said.
He alleged that many things were happening in the APC that did not attract his further membership of the party. “There are many things I feel do not sit down well with me. I therefore felt that I should come back home, meet my people and move the state forward.”
Kebbe contested the APC governorship primaries with Speaker Waziri Tambuwal, Sen. Umar Dahiru Tambuwal, Barrister Abubakar Aliyu Sanyinna at which election he scored one vote.
