FRSC deploys radar guns along Sokoto-Gusau highway

In order to reduce road accidents during the ember months, the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has completed plans to deploy radar guns along Sokoto-Gusau highway.
Mr. Olumide Olagunjuhe, who is the Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of Sokoto, Kebbo and Zamfara states, told news men while decorating nine newly-promoted officers in Sokoto on Monday.
Explaining that the guns were specially made to track speeding vehicles to curb the menace of road traffic crashes, he added that “The radar guns are to be used to ensure that the motorists obey all traffic rules and regulations along the highways.”
Olagunjuhe further said that the corps had embarked on 24-hour special patrols. “We are doing this with the active collaboration of the police and other para-military agencies, and there is a mobile court, which summarily tries and prosecutes all traffic offenders,” he added.
The Corps’ Sector Commander, Mr Takum Galadima commended the management of the corps for promoting galant officers while reiterating the commitment of the officers and men of the Command of being diligent on Nigerian roads safer.
Those promoted were to the new ranks of Route Commanders through to Deputy Corps Commanders.
