Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state has read riot act for caretaker committees recently appointed to oversee the affairs of local government councils in the state.

He warned the committees during the swearing-in ceremony of two new commissioners today at the Government House.

“Anyone who leaves his local government area of service without my approval would be sacked. You are appointed to serve the people and not to embark on unnecessary trips. This administration will not condone indolence in any way,” Wamakko warned.

The local government councils, elected three years ago were dissolved early this week and most members were appointed to serve in the caretaker committees.

The committees are to serve for a period of three months within which time chairman and councillorship election would be conducted.
